For technical violations, the penalty is $100. For substantial violations, the penalty is the greater of $250 or 5% of the contract price up to $2,500. A general construction contract for NY commercial work doesn't require as many disclosures because the owners of commercial properties are assumed to be more sophisticated and less in need of protection as consumers.
